The basis of our business is organic farming and the many 1000s of farmers who work for us are committed to high standards of farming.
Our infrastructure and qualified staff ensures the integrity and highest quality of our certified organic raw materials which are produced in close cooperation with our registered farmers.
The seeds and grains are processed by a top of the range seed cleaning plant and all commodities are treated against vermin through a unique and computerized natural fumigation system.
Our mission is to establish organic and fair trade added value production chains locally that are ecologically, socially and economically sound, and to make it attractive to all parties in the chain.
Our factory is situated in a lovely green environment about 20 miles out of Kampala, just a few miles after Mukono town towards Jinja.
Here we store and process cash crops from all over Uganda.
The factory provides valuable employment to local people with fair payment and good working conditions which includes free meals and health insurance for permanent staff.
Working overtime is voluntary and paid extra as is working during holidays.
Shares is one of the top tax payers in the district and received several awards from the Ugandan Export Promotion Board
We also run a project based training program to stimulate Village Loan and Saving Associations (VSLA’s) that help farmers to boost productivity and become less dependent on the expensive Micro Finance Loans offered.

Our entire production chain is certified by Ecocert International (click to see our certificate) and complies with the European regulation for organic agriculture (2092/91) and with the US National Organic Program (NOP). We follow common and sensible fair trade principles.
